August 2015

Today our hearts are broken. Just short of her 13th birthday the time came to say goodbye to our darling girl Teasa - age had finally gotten the better of her. Her legacy lives on in all of her beautiful children, grandchildren and great grand-children. For us she was just the most loving, loveable character with the most wonderful disposition. Even in the last few months when agility was failing her she insisted on rising up to walk to greet me before I could get to her to stop her doing so whenever I walked through the door at Mum and Dad's; her tail wagging and her cheeky face smiling. In the show world she was a record holder maintaining the Top Brood Bitch title in the breed for five consecutive years and making the all breeds top ten. She was simply a joy. Teasa was so called because we had originally wanted Dress to Tease as her kennel name but the KC didn't approve it and so the change was made. She was from the last litter that our dear friend Linda Collins bred before she was sadly taken from us and as Linda had a couple of litters quite close together she was stuck on name themes for the two full litters. She let me suggest the names for this litter. This morning Mum was concerned that neither of our regular vets was on duty this weekend but as it turned out the new vet was appropriately italian, a lovely chap who knew of the breed from the Emilia-Romagna region that we visit often and commented on what a good age she was for a Spinone. We all feel devastated. I can barely type for tears but wanted to do her justice and let everyone who has known her and her offspring know of our loss. Run free precious girl x
